UNDP Syria

Rasil’s lead expert Mr. El Amin has been engaged with UNDP Syria on developing strategic evidence based information management processes for the impact of the crisis study, area based livelihoods assessments and programme communication and outreach. For the impact of the crisis report, Mr. El Amin has developed automated mapping of the macro level socio economic indicators to assess, track and report on changes occurring due to impact consequences. Moreover, he worked on simplifying the presentation of the results by visualization mechanisms and the info graphics development and inclusion in the report. UNICEF Syria

When the Syria crisis was entering its fifth year and the humanitarian needs peaked, UNICEF called for RASIL’s services to improve a knowledge management issue and establish the most optimized business processes. RASIL consultant initiated the use of third party monitoring and supported the development of new, Syria-specific information management tools. These tools included SMS-based assessments, partnership agreements monitoring and performance reporting. To ensure UNICEF’s ability to sustain optimized business processes, RASIL trained UNICEF staff and partners on GIS, data visualization and reporting. RASIL also produced UNICEF Syria 2014 Annual Report, and prepared a set of info-graphic products and templates.

Support to UNICEF South Sudan

RASIL is providing technical support on Information Management tools for UNICEF in South Sudan to improve the use of information in the different phases from projects design, performance monitoring, and impact analysis. Food Security Information System – Sudan

FAO sought a consultant to build and optimize knowledge management systems, both in-house and at government partners. Our consultant established the first information management systems at the ministry of health and the ministry of agriculture. For Sudan Meteorological Authority, our consultant led the development of rainfall estimation systems. For the National Forestry Corporation and the Remote Sensing Authority our consultant managed the land-cover mapping, using satellite imagery and other tools to analyze land-cover change and impact on agriculture and food security.

GIS training in Guyana

RASIL’s lead consultant reviewed the utilization of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within Guyana’s Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MoIPA) and provided short training to 10 MoIPA staff in the use of GIS; map reading and interpretation of GIS data; and application of GIS tools to delineation and demarcation of boundaries.
